Submitting articles by hand is the most time consuming and least effective way to submit your articles, but as you’re getting started you may want to submit articles manually until you get a handle on how article marketing works. When you’re submitting articles by hand, there are 3 main types of article submission sites to whom you will want to submit. They are: Ezine Editors, Article Announcement Lists, and Article Directories. This article focusses specifically on doing an ezine article submission. 1 - Ezine editors manage email newsletters. They look for free reprint articles to include in their newsletter publications. 2 - Ezine editors are a very special type of publisher because their newsletters are sent directly to the email inboxes of a group of people who have specially requested to receive communications from the editor. This is a big deal because it means that the people on the ezine editor’s newsletter list are interested in reading the content that the editor provides. That means that if your article is included in one of these newsletters that it will likely be welcomed and read with interest. 3 - Ezines are “highly targeted”--that means that the people who are subscribed to a particular newsletter have a strong interest in the topic of the newsletter. For example, if the ezine is about parenting, the people who are subscribed to that ezine are very interested in that topic. If there is a compelling article on a particular aspect of parenting in the ezine, then it is highly likely that the reader would want to see more information at the author’s website. Since ezines have such a specific audience, there is an increased chance that a reader will click your resource box link and go to your website. 4 - Ezine subscribers trust the opinion of the person whose ezine they are subscribed to. An ezine editor is not just publishing an article on a website--he is sending your article directly to the people who have signed up to his list. What does it take to get on someone’s list? Well, you need to give your name and email and grant the newsletter owner permission to send you emails. That is a big deal--most of the time you would not give someone that privilege unless you trusted that the ezine editor would only send you information that was helpful and accurate. So, there is an element of trust already going on between the ezine editor and the people who receive his newsletter. This relationship of trust helps the readers be more welcoming of your article and more open to you. The ezine editor has given you his vote of confidence, and his readers are more likely to give you a shot. 5 - When your article appears in an ezine it can be sent to thousands of people all at one time. You do not have to wait for people to find your article via a Google search or by looking at an article directory--it is sent to many people all at one time. Because of this widespread and sudden exposure, being published in an ezine can result in a sudden upsurge of traffic to your website. How do you find places where you can do ezine article submissions? First, you need to locate ezine editors who are interested in publishing articles in your niche. After that, you need to verify that they are currently accepting article submissions. When you’ve established a list of ezine editors, you need to keep the list current. Things can change quickly in the online world, so you need to keep your publisher list up to date. That is an ongoing task that needs to be done at least once a month.
