Ink Cartridges for Your Laser Printer

Do you work in an office where it is necessary to print high quality letters and documents relatively often? If so, then you might want to consider purchasing a laser printer.

Some office managers even feel that having a laser printer is pretty much a necessity. That's because a fairly good laser printing device will typically churn out approximately 19 pages per minute and is usually good for about 5,000 pages a month. Some of the higher end laser printers are capable of printing 28 or more pages per minute.

Laser printers are renowned for being able to print quickly and quietly. This can be especially important if you have a home office.

Some of these printers are also multi-purpose machines. They're available with a built in fax and scanner. And their modern designs also set them apart from the old clunky models.

After the initial expense of buying the machine, one of the major benefits of owning a laser printer is that aside from having exceptional print quality they usually cost less to maintain than inkjet printers. When it comes time to replace the ink cartridges for your laser printer you will find that although it is more expensive than an ink cartridge for an ink jet printer the cost per print is usually less.

And from an overall business perspective, even if it costs a little more, isn't the superior quality worth it?

One of the frustrating things about some laser printers is that their laser printer ink cartridges have chips embedded in them. These chips are supposed to let you know when your ink cartridge is about to run dry.

The potential problem is that some of these laser printers will "read" that the ink cartridge is empty when there is actually a bit of ink in it. And, what's even more frustrating is that a number of printers will stop printing if they get this reading.

So, if you are about to purchase a laser printer, make sure that it will not stop printing when its sensor reads that the ink cartridge is empty. If you do not take this precautionary step then it may end up costing you quite a bit of money unnecessarily.

Given that caveat, when it comes to printing large amounts of pages on a regular basis your best choice is often having a laser printer at your disposal in your office.

If your budget does not permit an investment in this type of printer then you can still purchase an inexpensive inkjet printer that will produce good quality documents. And when your company is making a nice profit it may be time to buy a laser printer too.
