They say that diamonds are forever, but I guess, not always. There are times when we need to let go of our precious gems because we are in need of some amount of money. Diamonds can be in wedding rings, pieces that your ex-husband gave you, a family crest, or even just a pair of earrings that you are tired to wear already. Instead of making it rot in your jewelry box, you would rather sell diamonds and earn some cash. When wanting to sell diamonds, you should learn the virtue of patience. You should also learn these steps so that you'll have a smooth sell of diamonds. Do an appraisal for your diamond-Why do you need to do this? Well, you need to know what kind of diamond you have. Check your yellow pages for the number. There would be an appraiser office for sure in your city. Once you have an appraiser, know what kind of rapaport value your diamond has-so what is a rapaport? Rapaports give you the info that you need for you diamond. Some info would be, how many karats it has, is it round, what kind of cut, etc. They will be the ones to determine how much your diamond is. Find someone who could your diamond-since you know how much it's worth, you would get rid of bogus buyers. Never would you sell diamonds for a cheap price! Remember that! When I reached this step, that's when I found this company. They have great service; they also give you a guarantee that they are not a hoax company. Also, they give 3 to 5 times more than any jeweler, considering the fact that they also have genuine people to check your diamond's worth. Here are the things you need to know if you would want to sell diamonds in a jewelry store; you would need to show the appraiser's quote on your diamond. This is indeed a clear proof that your piece is indeed worth something. If the store decides to "dump" the price into a lower one, let's say about 50% or lower of the appraiser's mentioned price, do not take it at all! If he calls for higher than 50%, you might try to consider it. There are also times when stores offer a consigning deal. They'll make you leave your diamond in their store and ask if you would agree with a consignment deal. He'll hoax you by saying that you can earn more, but this is actually not true! Do not trust shops like that! Head to the nearest exit and find somebody else. Consignments are not good to have. You should really make sure that you are dealing with the right people if you want to sell diamonds. Diamonds are no joke to sell. They are worth a lot, and it is not worth it to give in to something cheap for your piece.
