Check the laws of your state before you file any insurance claims, but it is your responsibility to file. As chiropractic care is part of your medical treatment, your insurance company should pay all or part of its cost as part of its coverage. Your next appointment for treatment should be with your chiropractor, not your physician. It's necessary to see a chiropractic doctor following an automobile accident, even if you've been to the hospital. Your chiropractor will focus on treating the biomechanical issues that can arise after head, neck or spine trauma. A medical doctor will treat your symptoms and then release you, unless you sustained a serious injury that's obvious. Sciatica, headaches, dizziness and other problems can become troublesome if you don't obtain care by a chiropractor. A chiropractors clinic will provide rehabilitation services that concentrate on more than just reducing your pain levels, including the correction of your posture and spinal alignment. Ice, heat, exercise and neuro-muscular therapies will frequently be used to restore your body to the position it should be in. Even without a bulging disc or similar issue, an injured spine can affect your life quite unpleasantly. Simply by visiting the chiropractor a few times, you might obtain the peace of mind you want about no additional problems cropping up years into the future. You might get some temporary pain relief with muscle relaxants and traction, but if whiplash is treated incorrectly, its symptoms could come back to haunt you decades later.
