HTML5 is literally going to revolutionize the way we develop mobile applications. There are so many amazing benefits to the development of apps due to HTML5 that developers will truly rejoice. While developing apps will continue to change as technology grows, HTML5 is definitely the next step towards more efficient development. Here we will discuss the major benefits of the new HTML5 for mobile. Development cost will be reduced and speed will be increased. Developing an app with HTML5 across devices will require fewer resources than developing native applications for each mobile operating system. The skills required for web development are much more common compared to native languages and development frameworks. Costs with HTML5 overall will therefore be lower. HTML5 is absolutely cross-platform compatible. Any smartphone or tablet device that runs on iOS, Android, Windows Phone, or Blackberry will be able to implement HTML5 apps. Better direct HTML support will be provided for enabling more complex functionality for apps, including drawing, animation, video and audio. DOM and HTML support will be provided by HTML5 without the third party programs and extra unneeded plugins. Offline Application Cache will be made availble to users. HTML5 users will be pleased to learn that they can access their web cache even when not connected to a network. Caches have always been a part of browsers, but they are often only deliver partial pages from the web. Caches are sometimes not completely saved and so it will be impossible to bring up the whole page when you need it. Rather than trying to save all caches and doing a poor job, HTML5 will allow developers to cache only the files he will need. When pages are reloaded offline, they will then load correctly. HTML5 allows more coverage for location maps. It is possible to directly connect to any HTML5-compatible browser-based app when using Geolocation apps. HTML5's excellent ability can seen through the Google Latitude for the iPhone. Rather than being a platform dependent application, it is uniquely a pure web application. The world's leading software companies which have previously promoted closed-loop, proprietary tools for mobile development (e.g. Adobe, Adobe Flex and Microsoft Silverlight) have since aligned with the HTML5 mobile development approach. Developers will quickly find that HTML5 will bring order to the features and behaviors that we are already using, but without the current confusion and lack of support. It has been very difficult to find programs, apps and systems that all work together due to poorly contructed standards. You will understand why HTML5 is so needed when you think about the large variety of mobile devices being used today. Developers will finally be able to create apps that will run seamlessly, across multiple platforms and enjoy the new features that will be made available only through HTML5.
