Charms and charm bracelets featuring all those wonderful imaginary creatures from myths and legends are a treasured addition to any jewelry collection. These mystical types of charms are perfect as a complete theme on a bracelet or just as an additional touch of whimsy to a more eclectic type of collection.

Some of the most popular and beautiful types of mythical charms are those that feature fairies. Fairies in legend and story are always positive and loyal characters that are interested in doing good and helping out the world. Often very delicate in design, fairies are a great addition to any bracelet.

There are several different styles of fairies from three dimensional charms of fairies in flight or hovering, highlighting their beautiful butterfly-like wings. Other options include fairies that have been painted in soft colored enamels to add a touch of color to the charm, but also to draw attention to fine detail. Filigree work on the wings makes the charms very light and stylized in appearance.

Although not always seen as good, dragons are a popular motif in the realm of mystical creatures. Many of the dragon charms are in the Eastern design, with very detailed designs on the body and wings of the dragons. Dragon charms are often seen with their wings extended and in flight, wonderful for a more dangling style of charm.

If dragons aren't your style, you may wish to consider adding silver charms or gold charms featuring the winged horse Pegasus. Pegasus charms are almost always seen in flight and, like other charms, are typically highly detailed.

For luck and a bit of whimsy, consider a few elf and leprechaun charms as a great addition to any bracelet. In the mystical or mythical creatures theme they can be depicted in any form, however they often have fun and fanciful expressions on their faces. In addition the leprechaun charms typically have a famed pot of gold for a bit of additional luck.

Many people collect angels, so why not add a couple of angel charms to any style of charm bracelet? Angel charms can include angels in prayer, angels in flight, or the more traditional styles of guardian angel styles of charms.

There are many different mystical and mythical creatures found throughout literature and legend. Consider adding charms of pixies, mermaids, trolls and even unicorns to the collection. A few charms of knights on horseback and even a castle or two will add to the theme and allow a story to be told in the charms on the bracelet.
