A holiday in Thailand offers so much to the traveler. A place of beauty, history and culture, Thailand is a destination that once visited you will return to often. Thailand holidays would not be complete if you did not visit these incredible places that are completely unique to Thailand.

1. Bangkok the capital city. Bangkok is a modern metropolis located in the center of the country. This city offers everything from ancient temples to modern museums. A glorious nightlife is found in Bangkok with over 8000 places to dine, dance and celebrate a long day. The temple of the Reclining Buddha, located on the grounds of the Grand Palace, is a site you do not want to miss on your visit to the city. The Ancient City amusement park has been authentically recreated to represent the area in ancient times.

2. The Floating Market. Many people do not realize that Bangkok is filled with canals and other waterways. The floating market in Damneon Saduak is the finest example of a local market. The vendors, selling everything from hot cooked meals to assorted wares are all positioned on independent boats. Food and merchandise are passed to customers on the banks of the canal via long poles with hooks on them. People from around the world, and around the city, gather to side of this market to experience the flavor and culture of Thailand.

3. Phuket beaches. The island of Phuket is a must see during any Thailand holiday. These pristine beaches offer all the fun and entertainment found in a costal area. Phuket is home to some of the most exquisite resorts in Thailand.

4. Kanchanaburi, while more rural than the other modern parts of Thailand, this city offers those who wish to experience the "true" Thailand the opportunity to do so. Kanchanaburi is probably most famous for the "Bridge over the River Kwai", a World War II encampment. There are several historical places to visit in the area for WWII buffs. However, Kanchanaburi is one of the best places to visit if you enjoy trekking.

5. The various temples located throughout the country. Thailand is home to some of the oldest and most exquisite Buddhist temples. These temples display incredible architecture and art work and leave the visitor in awe. With a noticeable hint of Hinduisim attached to this form of Buddhism, the Thailand temples are very unique.

Thailand holidays can be as exciting or relaxing as the traveler wants. Outdoor adventure, exclusive resorts and culturally based activities can all be found within its borders.
