In recent years, cloud computing has seen more and more use. It offers new options for storing files and using the web and serves the base for many a social networking site. Internet use and communication have become much easier with the use of a cloud virtual server. The name of cloud refers to the fact that it is a grid of computers that deliver data. It has been a term in business for quite a while, now. Web-based software is becoming more common, every day, because of the internet being so widely used, and this virtual server makes the most of this. Usually, programs run through the web will still be based on your personal computer. With cloud solutions, however, they are run through a virtual computer, and this means that these applications are run independently of your own machine. This way, your hardware will be supporting a lot less, so this is far more convenient. Also, this way, your software can be used without your operating system being an issue. You will not need to worry about whether your system is compatible with the program. In a way, you could say that the Cloud is made of layers, and that you mainly interact with the front layer. Your email or your favourite social networking site or anything else that you might interact with will be at the front. At the back, you have where everything is run from, and this is the computer grid or virtual computer that the server consists of. The same power source means that the software can take advantage of this. It is possible to adjust how much of the resources are being used by any particular program, and so this virtual computer is more flexible. With this server, we are going from having our software based entirely out of our own computers to sharing the same network with lots of other users. A lot of people are actually using this without knowing much about it, so it is happening all the time. It helps erase some of the inconvenience of having to run software off of a stationary machine, where the only option is to move things, manually. This would have once applied to everything on your machine, whether it was gaming or email. The latter, especially, is found to be much more useful if you have a roaming account that means that you can use it on a different computer. Since many will use their email for both leisure and work, this is usually thought to be very convenient. It is much easier to have what you need available at any time or place. Your data and communication will be much better preserved this way, also. Your emails are protected even if something happens to the rest of your computer. This is one of the primary appeals of these virtual servers. This does not mean, though, that there are no problems that might arise this way. While you may lose data from a broken computer if you save it, there, you may also encounter issues with this kind of server. Most pressingly, you probably will not have access to your data if you have no internet. Should you need something from your internet at any time, this might be a problem.
