Selling products for an affiliate merchant is how most people try and make money with affiliate marketing. In reality most of them never selling anything. This ultimately is waste of their time an no one ever makes any money. Let's talk about three things you can do to help avoid wasting your time doing affiliate marketing sales and hopefully make some money as well. 1. Use your products. It is surprising how many affiliate marketers do not use their own products. One of the best things you can do is purchase your own products if you are new to this kind of way to make money. You will find that selling the product is easier once you have learned about it. As you use your product you should make notes about what you like and what you do not like. You will use this in the next step. 2. Review what you have learned. You never want to send your potential customers directly to the affiliate sales page. A better strategy is to create review pages where you talk about the advantages and disadvantages of the product you are promoting. This is where using the product personally comes into play. Writing an honest review will actually help you sell more products. It is okay to write things that you do not like about a product as well because nobody believes everything is always perfect. You are given free websites to promote as an affiliate marketer. You will want to start your own blog or website personally and then link to those sales pages on your review pages. In the past these used to be referred to as pre sell pages. Today you really don't want to pre-sell your potential customers much as you want to just offer opinions and facts about the product you are reviewing. If you write a decent review it will serve as a pre sell page. You can then link to your affiliate sales page via a banner or text link ad. 3. Create a follow up system. This is a critical part of being successful. All you really need is an auto responder and a series of messages to follow up with your prospects. Many affiliate programs have a splash page or landing page for you to promote. One thing you can do is put your landing page on your review pages. This is a way to capture your prospects contact information before passing them through to your affiliate sales page. You will find you waste less time doing affiliate marketing sales if you use the products, review the products, and create a follow up system for future sales!
