Self hypnosis can be compared to meditation. A state of hypnosis is very similar to a state of meditation and is generally strongly connected to the subconscious mind. You might have come across offers for self hypnosis mp3s and might have wondered if they are for real. The purpose of this article is to explore and find out if hypnosis mp3s really work and if so in what fashion can they help you. I should firstly state that I am a sceptic. In general I do not believe in short cuts and will always advocate that hard work and effort will yield better results than quick and easy short cuts. The first step that I took in my research was to find a website that advertised hypnosis mp3s. To my surprise there were actually quite a few. I took my time and found that not all hypnosis mp3s are created equally. Many sites try to sell sub standard recordings and you should try to steer clear of them. I eventually found a site that had a whole selection of hypnosis mp3s and they were listed according to purpose. Some were aimed at improving self esteem whilst others were more specific in that they claim to help with addiction and breaking the hold that cigarettes have on people. I am not a smoker and so I chose a certain mp3 that claimed to help with focus and motivation. Could a little recorded hypnosis session really get me off the couch and energised for action? Further research helped me to understand that I needed to be comfortable and in a safe environment for the session to best be effective. Being seated on the couch and with the track on my PC I could not be safer and more comfortable. My last thought before I started the session was that surely this can not be the secret to motivation. The track started with some instructions and one made me smile, the soothing voice warned me not to be driving or operating heavy machinery at the time of the session. I easily follwed the simple instructions of the voice recording. I can honestly say that I do not remember much about the specifics of the session but what I can report is that when the voice asked me to open my eyes and instructed me that I am awake and feel rested and energised I really felt motivated and energised. This was surprising to me. I had during the session managed to clarify some goals that were very vague before the session. What is more is that I had a very clear image in my mind of how to reach these goals and what the rewards will be once I get there. I can now say that I am a regular user of self hypnosis MP3s and would recommend them to anyone seeking to create a deeper connection with their subconscious mind.
