5 Necessities to Achieve a Cowboy Look

No matter how young or old you are, there will still come a time when you would have to dress up differently. When you would need to wear costumes to replace your everyday and work clothes. This is because, every now and then, masquerades and dress up parties can be organized by your company or and/ or your social group. Yes, sometimes most of those events can sound corny but hey, if you do not want to be tagged as the "party pooper" then you need to fit in and somehow go with the flow.

So if there is a soiree, then go out of your way to whip up the dreamiest costume that you can get. If it is masquerade, wear a mask. And if you are invited to a cowboy party then dress in style like a real cowboy!

"Cowboy" or Western is perhaps one of the most common themes in parties today. The reason behind this is, for party organizers this is one of the few themes that is easy to achieve. For the venue, the person in charge of decoration will just have to get as much cactus plants, ropes, tumbleweeds, plaid tablecloths and that is good to go. For the food, the chef would not really have to whip up something that is extra fancy. Finger foods, such as chicken wings coupled up with some good Mexican beer will do it. More importantly, for you as a guest, dressing up may end up to be an easy feat. You can basically achieve the look you want without spending a lot (and looking ridiculous).

To achieve the "cowboy" look, you can start raiding your closet to see if you have the following cowboy necessities:

1. A button down shirt preferably with some "dainty but manly" embroidery on the chest area, collar area and cuffs. It does not matter what color they are in. Just wear whatever shade will work for your complexion.

2. Blue jeans with a great fit. Yes, you may love your baggy and comfortable pants but just for the party, jump out of your comfort zone to look good. Oh and make sure that they are boot cut pants. Why? You'll know a bit later.

3. A wide leather belt with a huge (as in prominent) buckle. When choosing a belt, try to go for leather that is not shiny and something that has a more rustic look.

4. Cowboy boots that will go inside your boot cut pants. Go for leather of course. And, make sure that when you are trying to buy a pair, the color that you choose matches the color of your belt. Now if you are a bit adamant on buying leather boots just for a party, then consider buying something from Twisted X Boots or John Deere Boots that has a more subtle design. They do not only look good but they can be versatile as well.

5. Finalize the look with a Cowboy hat and you will be ready to ride a horse - or attend the party where you are supposed to go to, stun everybody and have fun!
