Staying cool in the sun is incredibly important these days, particularly with skin cancer becoming such a common illness. There are plenty of ways to stay safe in the sun however, from fabric shades to slapping on the lotion. Wooden Cabanas Cabanas can have a multitude of uses, and their versatility can lend them to being used to stay cool. By ensuring that the windows are covered by brise-soleil style shading and building them out of straw and wood you can ensure that they are going to be kept cool. Twig Canopy A twig canopy can be an attractive and stylish way to build above and outdoor patio or space. The alternative is often some sort of cement overhead, and while that will keep things very cool, perhaps overly so, they are often unpleasant on the eye. With twigs or bamboo overhead, however, you are afforded more light and a nicer addition to your house. Palm Awnings Awnings often spread over the pavement in front of a particularly trendy shop or spread out from the roof a restaurant to provide shade to its customers. On the beach, it is possible to use them as a sun-block as well, by laying palm leaves or a strip of material overhead across some branches, for example, and to block out the sun so that you can relax by the sea in comfort. If the trees are close enough you can even hang a hammock between them. Kikoys Kikoys are basically a bit of material you can wrap yourself in and can help you cover up. Although generally worn by women as a dress or something to throw over one's shoulders, they are not gender-specific and therefore can be worn by men as well. Because they come in a variety of colours - often pastel shades - they are generally seen as a classy bit of kit from which to hide from the sun's rays. Sun Hats The sun has got is hat on… and you should too, particularly if you're thinning up top. That said, women with partings in their hair can also be affected and therefore it is important for people of all sexes to make sure that their head is protected, as some of our most tender skin is on our head and can burn very easily. As you can see, there are plenty of ways to stay chic and cool this summer, so save yourself from sunburn and enjoy the outdoors in style.
