How To Submit Articles: Submitting Articles To Publishers

When you are learning how to submit articles, one of the biggest decisions you will make will be your method of submitting articles to publishers.

You have three options: Submitting manually, submitting via article submission software, or using an online article submission service.

Let’s take a closer look at these 3 options:

1 - You can submit your articles manually. That means that you go to each article directory and submit the article by hand.

Pros: Submitting articles by hand is something that pretty much anyone can do. You just create an author account at the article directory, then submit your article by filling in the various fields that the article directory asks you to. Submitting manually will allow you to get accustomed to the article submission process as you decide if you’d like to use article marketing as your main marketing tool. Submitting articles by hand is also free.

Cons: Submitting manually takes the most time and produces the most modest results. Ideally you would want have your articles submitted to as many publishers as possible, but there is a limit to how many manual submissions you can do. After all, you’re only human! Submitting manually can get very time consuming if you are serious about doing article marketing.

When you are submitting your articles to only a few directories, you also need to submit more articles to see results. Manual submissions can require that a person write an article a day or more in order to see an impact. After a while, writing so many articles gets very tiring, so it can be hard to stick with a consistent article marketing campaign when you’re submitting by hand.

2 - You can submit articles with article submission software. Article submission software is a piece of software that you buy and install on your computer.

Pros: The software provides you with a list of article directories. The software helps you fill in the fields at the various directories, which saves some time. You only need to pay for the software one time--you may use it as long as you like after you buy it.

Cons: Even though the software helps you fill in the fields on the article submission page, it is still largely a manual process and is still very time consuming. You need to go to each site and register and also go to each site when you want to submit your article. Using article submission software is also rather high maintenance--you need to keep your publisher list up to date, because the information on that list is changing all the time.

3 - You can use a web-based article submission service. A web-based article submission service is a membership site that is located on the internet. Members can enter their article into the system, press “submit” and then the service distributes the article to a large network of publishers.

Pros: Submitting articles via an online article distribution service takes the least amount of time and produces the best results. The service maintains the list of publishers, so you don’t have to. A top-notch service will have an extensive distribution network that is updated daily.

Here’s a big time saver--when you submit via an online article submission service you do not need to submit as many articles, because each article is being sent to hundreds of publishes. You only need to submit about 8 articles a month for each website that you are marketing.

A top quality service should have special features such as the ability to schedule when your articles are distributed and how fast your articles are distributed, as well as the ability to create article variations.

Cons: There is a monthly fee associated with a web-based article submission service. You also need to take a different approach when submitting automatically than you would if you were submitting manually. When you’re submitting to tons of publishers, you need to be sure that you don’t overdo it on the submissions--8 articles a month per website is sufficient.

Which of these 3 methods should you choose?

It depends on what you are expecting as far as results and also how much time you are willing to invest.

Which one suits your needs best?
