Before you rush into dating someone new, do not forget to follow these simple rules to allow your new relationship to prosper successfully: love yourself first, be on time, keep your composure, have fun, compliment your date, contribute to a lively discussion, and help the relationship develop. Dating is the getting-to-know stage for every couple. Starting a new relationship is exciting and should never be rushed. Taking things slowly and one step at a time is the best approach to take with a new relationship. That will give yourself the best chance to share your true self with another person. If you've made mistakes in previous relationships that you don't want to repeat, you must be careful not to make the same mistakes with future partners. Set some boundaries for yourself so that you will not go beyond your personal limitations. Here are some guidelines you must follow when dating so that you can develop a healthy and potentially long lasting relationship: Love yourself first Before anything else, your own well-being must be your top priority. You can never love other person unless you entirely love and respect yourself. Before dating anyone, have a positive and healthy view of yourself. Be on time On your first date, you should never allow your date to wait for you. This can create a very bad impression about you and could negatively affect the outcome of your new relationship. Maintain your composure Do not be too transparent by allowing others to see what's inside of you. Even if you like your date a lot, do not make yourself too available too quickly for him. Have fun Wherever your first date leads you, make sure that you have fun. Enjoy every single minute together because you never know whether or not a second date will follow. Meeting different kinds of people is an experience worth cherishing because this could mean additional friends in your life. Give compliments It is always expected that on the first date, people take the time to make sure they look good for the other person. Some go to a beauty salon or a barbershop for help looking great for their date. Make an effort to compliment your date so she knows the effort is appreciated. Contribute to a lively discussion It's a big turn off when someone doesn't know how to carry on and participate in a good conversation. Be attentive with your date, comment when the opportunity arises to prove you are really listening. Allow the relationship to develop naturally If you feel that certain spark after your first date, it's a good indication that a stronger relationship could develop.
