Do you have trouble completing tasks? Here are five easy ways to break procrastinating habits: Set up time management plans, break big tasks into smaller activities, know the "do it now" perspective, set up a reward date, and view expectations in a positive way.

Procrastination is a depressive coping strategy of delaying the responsibilities that we have to face in a certain situation. It is actually an easy discourse that will gradually turn into a negative habit of avoiding reality. Before you know it, procrastination becomes a very bad habit. It can make a person depressed and create a non-productive quality of life. However, procrastinating can easily be avoided by following these simple suggestions:

Set up time management plans

Time management is the only way of organizing your schedule and your life. With time management planning, you will begin to set priorities which will help you reach your goals. Setting goals will guide your schedule and fill it with daily activities. Once your schedule is set, you will notice that you have a guided direction. You will realize that you are more inspired and confident to face and finished your responsibilities.

Break big task into smaller activities

An effective psychological trick to ease your anxiety of relieve the pressure of your responsibilities is to break bigger tasks into smaller activities, called chunking. Chunking will leave you with a mental impression of having smaller responsibilities. Smaller responsibilities can then be viewed with lesser anxiety. One way or another, your confidence level can meet the demands of your to-do list by tackling smaller and less pressuring projects. This is even more efficient if the chunking method is applied with the appropriate time management plan.

Do it now perspective

There are times that we can't avoid but feeling lazy. In an avoidable situation of catching ourselves with the "do it later" tendency, it is best to think of finishing the task now. Practicing the "do it now" perspective will serve as the net or motivator in times that a lazy procrastinating feeling kicks in.

Set up a reward date

Rewarding yourself is never a sin. In fact, it is an inspiring motivator of making you finish your task. Always set a day where you can reward yourself for accomplishing a task and being productive. It is only fair to make yourself feel good for doing something good. Just make sure that you do not cheat yourself from having a reward despite finishing your goal. After all, this strategy will benefit no one else but you.

See expectations in a positive way

Being a perfectionist will add pressure to every procrastinating dilemma. It is best to change your expectations and put them in a positive light. Focus on the brighter side and accomplish your goal. This will ultimately make things easier for you.

Seize the day and do what you can do now. Life is too short to dilly-dally around!
