For many people, Memorial Day marks the official beginning of summertime fun. While this holiday was created in remembrance of soldiers who fought and lost their lives for freedom, most Americans celebrate Memorial Day weekend with outdoor picnics and bar-b-ques, celebrating patriotism with friends, family, and neighbors. Let's face it -- you work hard, and so of course you value your time away from work - especially those 3-day weekends. That's why we've got a few ideas you're just gonna love for Memorial Day weekend (or any weekend!) Just look at some of the ways you can use a rental projector: 1. Family movie night. Take a trip down memory lane and watch your favorite family home movies projected to larger than life format. You'll laugh, you'll cry, and you'll feel a surge of nostalgia as you relive the most cherished family memories. 2. Video gaming tournament / Wii challenge Looking for a way to engage your teens and tweens in a family fun experience? Create a gaming challenge where kids and parents can face-off for the ultimate prize: bragging rights! 3. Mini-film festivals Gather your favorite flicks and pop some popcorn for an event your family is sure to love: your own mini film festival. Choose from classics, family favorites, or new releases, and project onto a white sheet or a blank wall. What could be easier to coordinate? 4. Block parties Why not invite the neighbors and make it a potluck? You can project a kid-friendly movie while the adults get some social time, or let the kids run around in the street while the adults kick back with a classic movie - the possibilities are unlimited. Remember, in certain communities, a permit is necessary to host a block party (usually, there is little to no charge for this permit, and it may be necessary to hire a security guard for the party, depending on ordinances in your area. Check with local authorities for details.) 5. Outdoor movie night As the weather warms up, it's the perfect time for an outdoor movie night. Recreate your own drive-in experience with a rental projector and a big white sheet draped on an outside wall of your house as family and friends cozy up under the stars for an evening of movie fun. Make Memorial Day memorable with any of these suggestions or get creative and think up your own fun. What matters most is spending quality time with friends and loved ones on this most patriotic of holidays.
