If you've recently started a business and you are getting excited about having customers pour in through your doors you may be wondering how you can get them in the first place. You may have asked yourself how your competitors started and how they managed to get all of the customers that they have. There's a very good chance that they developed such a large customer base by renting telemarketing lists. So you figure you should rent a telemarketing list as well. That's a good idea if you are prepared to get over some of the hurdles you will have to jump in order to find the most profitable telemarketing lists to rent. You see, there are a lot of lists available. And like most things, some are better than others. Some lists are overused. The names on these list may have been called multiple times by your competitor. And, if they're called again by your telemarketers the people on the other end of the call may hang up the phone. So how do you separate the wheat from the chaff? Research a Number of Telemarketing List Companies There are quite a few companies that broker telemarketing lists. Get in contact with them and request a one week's sample of what they offer. They may ask you to sign a contract. You should only sign a contract after you've determined the quality of their sample. Create a Spreadsheet Make a spreadsheet so that you can compare the usability and reliability of each of your sample lists. If other people are using the list the consumer will probably tell your telemarketers. These are lists you should avoid. Consider the Price For the most part you get what you pay for. If the list is cheap it probably isn't reliable. The names might be overused or the phone numbers might be disconnected. In any case, you may end up wasting a lot of money on phone calls and staff expenses without seeing the results you want. Make sure that you get the right vertical market list from the telemarketing list broker for whatever product or service you are offering. Give Yourself Enough Time to Test the Lists It can take some time to find and rent the most profitable telemarketing list. Get as much data as you can in order to make the most use of your telemarketers time on the phones. You don't want to have to pay them an hourly rate to call names that have been called over and over again. One of the best ways to begin your search is by finding out how long a telemarketing list broker has been in business. Companies with a long track record tend to be more reliable and have the depth of knowledge you need to find the most profitable telemarketing lists for your new company.
