Combination ladders, made of lightweight aluminum material, prove stronger than most combination ladders. Combination ladders work in three different ways. Users can easily reconfigure it to work as a step ladder, stairwell ladder or as an extension ladder.

Since the material is lightweight, users can easily carry anywhere, whether indoors or outdoors. It also folds in three different ways so you can handle any jobs that a conventional ladder cannot help you with. Given these numerous benefits, it would be a wise idea to buy combination ladders than any other type of ladders.

Before using any combination ladder, be sure to check the locking mechanism. You must become familiar with proper locking procedures. In addition, never attempt to unlock or reposition any joints while a person is standing on the ladder. Never attempt any configurations not illustrated on product labels. This will help avoid any further injuries.

Additional safety measures when using combination ladders include avoiding using it on ice, snow or any slippery surface. Never place it over unstable bases such as boxes, barrels, and scaffolds in an attempt to gain additional height. Never fasten or tie it with another type of ladder in an effort to obtain longer length.

When used as a stepladder, a level ground should support all four sides of its rails. Forget about using it as a stepladder if this worksite condition does not exist. Set-up the ladder close to work. Climb near the middle of the rung to prevent tipping the ladder sideways due to overreaching. Before moving the ladder, always descend first, relocate the ladder and then re-climb it. Never attempt to climb the ladder from the side or to step from one ladder to another. Do not step or stand higher than the step indicated on the label.

When used as a stairwell ladder, never climbed on its back section as this may cause the ladder to topple due to uneven ground surface.

Meanwhile, if used as a single or extension ladder, always make sure that optimum resistance against the bottom of the ladder will prevent it from sliding out. Always set the ladder at a proper angle. Position the base a slight distance from the wall. The upper support should equal to one fourth the length of the ladder side rails.

A number of manufacturers offer cheap combination ladders. Many users opt for combination ladders mainly due to its versatility. It can be assembled in a variety of ways to suit any application.
