Build the Car Audio that Fits You Best

Getting the best car audio system isn’t necessarily about having the biggest speakers or the loudest car audio subwoofer, it’s about matching the proper mobile audio to your needs. What made you think about improving your car audio in the first place? Are your speakers weak, tinny, or have they blown out? Do you listen to a lot of pop and hip-hop, and need the bass to go with it? Or do you rock out to electric guitar solos and need crazy power behind your sound? After you know why you’re upgrading, you can start thinking about what you will be moving up to.

1. First, identify what you use your car audio for, or what you want to use it for. If you’re listening to a lot of radio, maybe switching to satellite would be a good choice. If you want to listen to mp3s, you can look into getting an iPod dock. Maybe you want an in-screen display? If you aren’t sure, listen to your car audio system in relative silence, away from highways and shopping malls. Are all the speakers working properly? Is there any distortion after a certain point? If so, identify where, so you can replace the old speaker with a new car audio speaker.

2. Drive around and see how the system sounds on the highway. If the speakers sound okay in quiet but can’t deal with highway noise, you might just need car audio amplifiers. Amps also bring out the details of the sound, making your system sound sharper and clearer.

3. Depending on what kind of music you listen to, you may want a certain kind of car audio system. If you bump a lot of R&B, a car audio woofer will definitely help the beat bang. And if you’re worried about space, you can find a vehicle specific woofer that can fit in your trunk or under your seats.

4. If you make a lot phone calls from your car, you may want a Bluetooth enabled sound system so that you can answer calls on your dashboard. You may also consider a GPS in dash, if you like maps and hate getting lost.

5. Price what you need. If it’s too expensive, remember that you don’t have to get it all at once. Shopping for individual components is just as reasonable, and will give you a goal. so When you finally have your ideal sound system, it will sound even better than you imagined.

If you still are having trouble deciding, ask for help at the car audio store. Those guys are pros and will know how to help you. You may not have to completely revamp your entire car audio; a new solution is an expansion system that fits under your seat. This system is installed in one place, and allows you to connect entertainment options and amplifiers without having to install your products expensively. Plus, if you ever decide to sell your car, you can remove your car audio easily.
