If you are having Thanksgiving at your house this year, then you know it's one of those special occasions where going all out is especially important. You'll be having family and friends coming that you've not seen in a long time, in some cases you may not have seen them since last Thanksgiving. You will be prepping food for days and when it comes to making that perfect turkey and dressing, you can either use Mom's recipe or do enough research online to equal a graduate thesis for a doctorate degree. A great way to share in the holiday spirit is with great Thanksgiving table décor and other decorations around your home. Since the most important time for Thanksgiving is at the table (although some would say that passing out in front of the football games is important too) having the right holiday decoration on your table can be really fun too. Your Thanksgiving table décor will be amazing if you include some of these ideas: 1. Having a great centerpiece like a cornucopia, or a 'horn of plenty' is very symbolic for this time of year, giving everyone the opportunity to appreciate their own good fortune as well as family and friends to share it with. 2. Having Thanksgiving table décor such as themed plates adds another layer of joviality and warmth to the table. 3. Thanksgiving themed napkins not only match the plates but give you a great place to wipe off the cranberry sauce instead of using your sleeve. 4. Having small pumpkins and gourds sitting on end tables and even the coffee table makes for another way to dress up your tables. 5. If you really want to have a great Thanksgiving scene, try dressing up your tables with carefully arranged hay and pumpkins. 6. Wreaths laying on a table with candles in the middle is another great looking centerpiece you can use for Thanksgiving table décor. 7. Of course, the most important table decorations to have will be all of the great food you have prepared. Nothing makes a table more appealing than yummy goodness like turkey and dressing, cranberry sauce, sweet potatoes and pumpkin pie. These are the decorations that everyone will enjoy most. Thanksgiving is the time of year when getting together with friends and family to share the happiness and good fortune of the last year makes for a great time. Sitting down after a huge lunch or dinner filled with great food and good conversation or falling asleep in front of the TV while watching your favorite team is a tradition that makes all the effort of cooking, decorating and even traveling for hundreds of miles well worth it.
