King's Cross is a historical place that is located partly in London borough of Islington and wherein the London Borough of Camden. It used to be notorious as a red light district and is not too far away from Charring Cross. King's Cross, however, has overcome its old infamy since the middle of the '90s. The king's cross also plays host to the Eurostar terminus at St Pancras international. This terminus is a common way to get to France and Belgium. Thanks to the proliferation of hotels Kings Cross, restaurants, and cultural venues in the area King's Cross is now renowned for its buzzing art and culture scene. Thanks to its new reputation more and more businesses—mostly hotels near St Pancras—are establishing themselves in the area.

There is no shortage of history in King's Cross. It was in fact formerly known as Battle Bridge. It was a major battle ground between the Iceni tribe (headed by Boudicca) and the Romans. This place was inhabited by the Romans and was frequented by Julius Caesar. In fact, two streets along King's Cross and St Pancras stations were named after Caesar's camp, The Brill.

The name King's Cross was taken from an 1830 monument. This was a very huge monument of King George IV at what is now known as Euston Road but formerly it was the junction between New Road, Gray's Inn Road and Pentonvile road. Currently in its place is the King's Cross Railway Station that was designed by Lewis Cubitt and was completed in 1852.

Before the transport systems were introduced, King's Cross remained a highly rural area. With the better roads there was an overall increase in the lifestyles in the region. King's Cross then flourished from the churches and other residential and business areas. There were also hotels London St Pancras built. There were industries that precluded the railroad. St Pancras was and always has been the midland station for the railways.

Nowadays you can easily stay at any of the Kings Cross hotels since it's so near the cultural center of the city. You can find hotels St Pancras station, which was a major establishment. There is also teh London Canal Museum and the British Library. The Foundling Museum, the Gagosian Gallery, and the Shaw and Bloomsbury theatres are also located nearby.

You can choose a Kings Cross hotel from the area. You can even choose from very cheap hotels to more luxurious ones. For example, the Megaro Hotel near St Pancras is worth visiting. This hotel makes all the other hotels in the area seem squalid. The hotel's beauty can be attributed to its unique blend of English and Italian design, and its wood and glass structure.

The old church at St Pancras is also worth noting. Considered one of the oldest Christian churches in Britain, this church is a symbol of the area's rich history.
