Australia is known as the Lucky Country. Her mild climate and beautiful beaches make the country a perfect spot for expats from all over the world. With their relaxed attitude and bright economic future, it's no wonder that many choose to move there. The Australians healthy lifestyle and sports-minded activities makes it one of the most popular places that people often go to relocate.

Australia has six states - South Australia, Tasmania, Queensland, Western Australia, New South Wales and Victoria. The Australian Capital Territory and the Northern Territory are the two mainland territories of the country. Currently the 13th largest country economically, Australia excels in public education, quality of life, civil rights and liberties, health care and economic freedom.

Australia handled herself very well when the Global Financial Crisis had many countries in turmoil. They enjoy a good employment rate due to their strong economy. Because there is a need for people knowledgeable in specific fields, many professionals are finding Australia to be a favorable place to move. Australia is still an "outback country" in that her main industries are mining, agriculture and commodities. Much of the prosperity and wealth of the country lies within the desert land of the outback.

The country is still being shaped, as it is still quite young in many ways. Due to a greater interest in business and education, the inner cities of Australia have become more popular places to live. Most people in Australia rent their homes. People were unable to buy homes when the housing market dropped in 2006, but now it is becoming more of a practical option for people.

Sports have always been an important part of Australian life. The favorite sports of Australia are football, rugby and cricket and their long-standing rival remains the United Kingdom. Of those over the age of fifteen, it is estimated that 24% are involved in sports of some kind. Since the 1930's Australia has participated in the Olympics.

It is easy to understand why the Australians are so proud of their progress when you realize that for 40,000 years, the land was inhabited by indigenous tribes of Aborigines. Before becoming a colony of Great Britain in the 1700's, the country was very primitive. There are now about 22.6 million people in the country with about 60% of them living in the key cities of Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth and Adelaide.

Australia is a constitutional monarchy with a federal division of powers. The parliamentary system of the country's government is run by Queen Elizabeth II. The Queen of Australia is the monarch of the Commonwealth areas, unlike the Queen of England. Residing in the United Kingdom, her representatives in Australia control most of the affairs.

When you move to Australia, you find a country with beautiful landscapes and a unique lifestyle. Opportunities for a productive, healthy life, along with adventure and fun are the main components of Australia. You can find a social life filled with friends and excitement with the inner city nightlife of Australia. Australia may be just the place for those looking for a unique lifestyle with a myriad of opportunities!
