Dumpsters are large trash receptacles used for waste and debris. Often they are placed in parking lots behind commercial buildings and restaurants. However, there are also times when extra large trash receptacle rentals are needed for residences. Common reasons to rent include: an abundance of yard work, an expansion or construction project, or a move which generates a lot of rubbish that exceeds township limits. Once you decide to rent a dumpster, you need to contact a rental company to determine what size unit meets your needs. Receptacles come in many sizes and a sales consultant can help you identify the size after being advised of your project. In addition, ask the sales consultant where the unit will be placed and pinpoint the details for delivery. Since these containers are heavy, some companies place the dumpster on wood planks to protect the surface underneath. Inquire about the shape and size and if it needs to be on level ground. Some units are high and may require you to stand on a ladder or box to fill them. Details about the unit will help ensure that you choose one that can be placed in a convenient location. After choosing the unit, determine the price. The cost ranges from as little as $125.00, but averages in the mid-five hundreds. Costs can be higher based on the scope of the project. Factors that contribute to the cost of the receptacle are the rental time length, the capacity of the unit, and the weight of the trash. After debris is loaded, the dumpster rental company will haul away and dispose of it. The rental company pays a fee based on the weight of the trash so if the weight exceeds what is stated in the contract, you will usually be charged an additional fee. Although certain contract terms will vary, your contract will cover the details relating to the sales agreement. In particular, your financial obligation and the length of the rental will be mentioned. You will be responsible for filling the container within the confines of the contract specifications. The contract will restrict the types of debris you can place in the receptacle and usually prohibits hazardous waste and flammable items. Before signing the contract, read it carefully so that you can refer to it to ensure that all the terms are met as agreed by both parties. The rental company will be responsible for prompt delivery and pick up, as well as, waste disposal. Before your dumpster is delivered, make sure you have cleared a convenient area for the unit or moved your vehicles so it fits in the agreed upon location. You should plan to supervise the delivery so you are sure that the unit is placed where you want it and is the agreed upon size and shape. Inspect the lid and check that it fits securely so that garbage cannot fall out or get blown away.
