A HEPA air purifier is one of the first things you should pack if you're going to be living in a dorm or apartment this school year. Here are 5 reasons why. Your Roommate—If you've been able to choose your roommate you're lucky. Most times this is not the case. If the person you share your space with smokes, uses incense, heavily scented personal and cleaning products, you could be in for a difficult year. Eliminating the lingering odors will allow you to come home to a room that smells fresh and inviting. Otherwise these lingering odors can become aggravating at best. The Dorm---If your dormitory has just undergone a remodel of any kind, it's hard to predict the smells that you may encounter. It could be paint, or adhesives used to redo the bathrooms, or carpet smell or a combination of all. If there has been work done to the walls there may be a large amount of dust that is still airborne. Some dorm windows don't open, so that makes it difficult to let fresh air inside.. And unfortunately the air isn't always fresher outdoors.. Germ Control---With the rapid spread of the Swine Flu several years ago on college campuses, it became all too clear that with any large community of people who are in close proximity to each other, it is incredibly easy for viruses and bacteria to spread. The more pollutants your cleaner is able to remove, the better your chances are of staying healthy. Bacteria and viruses usually attach to larger particles to move about, so by using a cleaner that can remove particles as small as .3 microns (HEPA); you can effectively remove airborne viruses and bacteria as well. Allergies and Asthma---If you are already dealing with allergies or asthma, you know that it doesn't take a lot to trigger a flare-up, and once that happens it takes a while to get back on track.. Taking an effective cleaner with you gives you not just clean air, but peace of mind in knowing that you will be able to provide healthy air wherever they send you. Increased Concentration---Fresh air has a higher amount of oxygen, and the more oxygen in the air, the better your body is able to function, and the more you are able to concentrate. This allows you to think clearly and can do nothing but increase you chances of success in your studies.
