Texting Acronyms To Use On Your ATT Cell Phones

By : Paul Wise

Computer and technological language and lingo are heavy on the acronyms. This is because a long sentence or thought can be reduced to a one word without the meaning being lost. Acronyms save time and also make it so only those "in the know" can understand the message. Acronym heavy computer language became popular with instant messaging in the late 90's and the 2000's. Common and popular one's then and now were BRB (I'll be right back) and LOL (laugh out loud). Now these acronyms have gained more popularity in text messaging on kids' Verizon Cell Phone. But they have also gotten more complex leaving only the newest generation of ATT cell phones users to comprehend the long, convoluted messages. Here are a few favorites from this utter madness.

While we all know the BRBs, LOLs and IDK but there are now so many I can't even make a close guess to what they might mean. For instance, WIBAMU. Yeah, take a guess, you're bound to get it. Yeah, you know, it's that phrase we all use, "Well I'll Be a Monkeys Uncle." Is this really what owning Verizon cell phones and text messaging have become?

Here's a good one, AMRMTYFTS! Come on, you know this one from those frat parties where you woke up and everything in your life was less than ideal. No, OK, maybe you won't get it. It means All My Roommates Thank You For The Show, duh! And this is of course used after what exactly? I think it has to do with the aforementioned frat house, lots of alcohol and well someone that may or may not have put on a good show. I'll let you decide when this one is appropriate to use with Verizon Cell Phones.

This last one is really fun. It's here to give someone you know that extra little dig. You know, you text it to your friends ATT cell phones and then they leave their phones open at the bar and then she sees it. It's called BOBFOC, you know, Bobfoc? As in, Body Off Baywatch Face Off Crimewatch. Wow, pleasant.

So now you know what kids between the ages of 12 and 18 are texting each other via ATT Cell Phones. I think acronyms are great tools in moderation and I think texting as a whole is a great tool as well. But really, who says this kind of stuff. I don't know but, Hey, AMRMTYFTS even though you've got a BOBFOC!
