Treadmills

One of the most well-known home exercise equipment. It allows you to walk or jog indoors at any time of the day and regardless of the weather outside. It is beneficial for people who prefer running indoors and to those who don't wish to join any gym. Treadmill users can do other things while using it like watching TV or reading. Exercising on a treadmill minimizes strain on the ankles and knees as well as the lower back which you can usullay get from running outdoors. This high-intesity workout requires balance, endurance and agility and can be used anywhere and anytime as a quick warm up between weightliftings or circuit training stations. Another added advantage is that it costs less than those bulkier gym equipment.

Specialty machines

Examples of specialty machines are rowing machines that use both upper and lower extremities for aerobic exercise in a relatively limited space. These machines require the right technique to minimize back strains. Recumbent cycles reduce pressure on the knees and provide more support on the back by using an upright cycle, it provides a cardiovascular workout using the muscles of the lower extremities. The more complex cross country machines allow full body workout for muscular and cardiovascular strength however require higher level skills.

Resistance equipment

Resistant equipment are great alternative for the more elaborate fitness equipment and can be used anywhere. Weight equipment are available at fairly lower prices and require minimal spaces for usage. However, they must be used with supervision and mastery as they are likely to cause injury.

A home fitness equipment might be a good investment, however some outside exercise activities can also be an efficient and less costly fitness activity.
