Nokia 3710: It Makes 2-Way Video Calls!

The 3710 Fold is a glamorous looking fold opening handset which comes in three colours including pink, plum & a black coloured casing. The overall look of the handset is stylish complete with a hidden external screen. This hidden screen lights up & comes to life when a new call or message is received or when the volume key is pressed. Its internal screen can be viewed when the handset is in its fold open position & the screen is 2.2 Inches in size when measured diagonally. Released at the beginning of summer 2009 alongside much more glamorous cousins, the Nokia 3710 Fold is nevertheless a very good offering from the Finnish powerhouse, capable of 3G speeds with a very respectable 3.2 megapixels of possible photographic detail. This translates into 24-bit color depth at 1200x1600, with 4x of digital zoom available. It can double as a camcorder at 15 fps. The camera also offers full-focus, a LED flash, and a self-timer. You can even make 2-way video calls with it!

The 3710 Fold's compact clamshell form factor makes it clear that this model is designed for casual everyday use, but it sports features not typically associated with mere camera phones, like a built-in FM radio tuner, A-GPS, and stereo Bluetooth. A host of audio file formats are supported, including "oldies" like .midi. You can do e-mail and instant messaging. Voice dialing and voice recording are available. Talk time varies between 3 to 4 hours, depending on the communications protocol used. Charging via MicroUSB is supported. An optional MicroSD card would even boost available memory up to 8GB. The Nokia 3710 fold is a phone supporting EGSM 850/900/1800/1900 EGSM and WCDMA 900/1700/2100 (or WCDMA 850/1900/2100 for some regions). Main features include Series 40 6th Edition developer platform, WebKit Open Source Browser, A-GPS and Nokia Maps, 3.2 megapixel FullFocus (EDOF) camera with flash, stereo FM Radio, Flash Lite 3.0, Bluetooth 2.1 +EDR and MIDP Java 2.1 And it sports a 2.5mm phone-jack, not the 3.5mm audio standard.

The Nokia 3710 Fold is a glamorous yet fun phone. It has all the features of a modern, everyday phone, but is sleek and advanced enough to compliment business people as well. But this phone is set at a very low price, making mass adoption not only possible but quite likely, given the advanced features. This means that GPS will soon be considered par for the cell phone course, and not an advanced feature optional for most. Indeed, everything just listed about this phone is practically guaranteed to become standard features within another two year! It was no accident that this model debuted alongside its more powerful cousins at Singapore's Communicasia trade convention, as Nokia sees Asia, in particular southern Asian, as markets with significant growth potentials. The company is essentially bringing "smartphone lite" to the developing world with the 3710 Fold, though this model will be offered worldwide.
