Fort Collins Air Conditioning Installation: Why You Should Not Wait Until It Is Hot

It is not hot enough yet for Fort Collins air conditioning season. The same could be said about many parts of the country. However it is time to get your estimates done and your air conditioning contractor chosen.

Here is why it is a bad idea to wait until it is hot to get your air conditioning installation done.

1. Contractors are not as busy right now. Heating and air conditioning is somewhat seasonal by nature. This is especially true if you live where you have all 4 seasons.

For example a Fort Collins air conditioning contractor is not installing that many new units in March when it still gets down to 20 degrees at night. They are also not installing that many new furnaces in March either.

This is known as in between seasons and is true for many markets around the United States. In Fort Collins, Colorado it could be very nice or very cold, but it is not going to get into the 90's yet.

2. The price will be lower in the off season. Air conditioning is a supply and demand business. In March your price will be lower for an a/c install in Fort Collins than it will be in July.

If they expect to keep good workers contractors need to keep their crews busy year round. It is better to work at a low price and retain good workers than it is to constantly have to hire and train new workers when there is plenty of work for everyone.

3. Consider upgrading with the money you are saving. The higher the SEER the more efficient your air conditioner is. This saves you money over the life of the unit. Buying a new system in the off season allows you to take that savings and get an even better unit right now!

4. If there are any problems on your job you have plenty of time to get them taken care of. There is nothing worse than coming home on a 95 degree day expecting your new air conditioner to be working and find out it does not.

Some areas such as Fort Collins, Colorado have very nice days year round to get your a/c system installed without waiting until summer. If you need a new compressor, fan, coil, or any part there is plenty of time for your contractor to get the part and have it installed for you.

Any piece of equipment with mechanical parts can have problems. Even a brand new unit! By having your Fort Collins A/C installation done in the off season you have plenty of time to take care of problems before it gets hot!

5. You will be ready when the heat arrives. How sweet it will be for you on that first really hot day when you can come home to a comfortable house. This is especially true when your neighbor is sweating his behind off and just starting to get bids for the first time.

In summary these are 5 reasons not to wait until it is hot to get your Fort Collins air conditioning system installed. Doing it now gives you plenty of time to get estimates, save some money, and be ready for the first heat wave.
