How Gold Charms Changed My Life

Have you ever had a time when everything in your life just seems to be a bad decision? That happened to me the year I turned twenty five and I really started to believe I was just cursed with bad luck, no matter what I did.

That year my whole world simply seemed to be suffering form a definite lack of luck. I broke up with my boyfriend, my new job was a completely bad decision and even the brand new apartment I had just rented started to have significant repair problems.

When talking about this with my sister she said something that really got me thinking. She told me to go out and start thinking about positive things and stop dwelling on the negatives and I could create my own luck. I just laughed, but the thought stuck in my head.

As I thought about it more I decided to start a collection of lucky things I could wear to keep focused on the positive. In a magazine I saw charm bracelets and gold charms of lucky objects from around the world and that seemed like a good idea.

Necklaces were also something I considered, but unlike charm bracelets they could only hold one lucky symbol, whereas a collection of charms could include as many gold charms as I wanted to add. It didn't take long to decide a charm bracelet was definitely what I needed.

Online shopping provided a huge number of options for a bracelet as well as for gold charms from around the world. At first all I could think of were the traditional types of luck symbols such as clovers, horseshoes and a pair of lucky dice. These were the first gold charms on my bracelet.

From there I also added several different gold charms that actually had the words good luck right on them. There is one with very ornate writing that is engraved on a disc while another is in a funky and stylistic font.

For a more international flair I added a good luck horn charm from Italy and a wishing well charm right from Ireland. The Hebrew word mazel is also in my collection of gold charms since this is a very lucky symbol as well. In all my focusing on luck, it seems my own situation really has turned around. I have a new boyfriend, great new job and even a new place to live, all thanks to my sister's suggestion of gold charms to get me onto positive thoughts.
