Copyright (c) 2010 Ed Opperman Many people think the only way you can catch a cheater is to hire an expensive PI to follow your spouse around for a few months. There are many ways you can do it yourself or hire a PI to do simple inexpensive investigation services. 1) Open you eyes! Always remember that your first intuition is 9 times out of 10 correct. 2) If you sense indiscretions going on, never hesitate to Investigate. You most likely will stumble across the truth, but the peace of mind you will bring yourself is priceless. 3) After finding out if Joe Smoe is being faithful or not, you must consider the ramifications. There will no doubt be some and can you handle the truth. Confide in your best friend, have an outlet to vent your frustration. That will help you stay on track and somewhat keep your sanity intact! 4) Our obvious place to start is with their electronic devices. Being a phone, computer or palm pilot. (does anyone use Palms anymore?) You cant assume that this person is all that intelligent. More and more people get caught by not deleting their text messages/picture messages. But even if they have deleted their messages a forensic examination can recover the deleted messages. 5) Keep an eye also on their day to day habits. See what if any were altured. Normally someone who is sneaking around and feeling somewhat guilty, will overcompensate other tasks. Normally you have to ask him to take the trash out 5 times, now he does it without being prompted. He's on time to dinner now, without being called and reminded the time . He remembers your child's baseball game is at 2pm instead of the normal 4 pm. Again, keep your eyes open! 6) Even though a million thoughts run through our minds of that this isn't the first time he/she has done this. You have to take into consideration, that it may be their first time and then you can almost be guaranteed he/she will slip up. Am I saying set a trap or two? Possibly. That would be a sure fire way to catch someone. But remember, you also cant alter your "norm" or that will throw the other person into an extra cautious mood. So add an extra color veggie for dinner, watch something other than American Idol on Tuesday, see if little things get noticed. If he's not noticing tiny changes, then be on your toes. Something is going on right under your nose! 7) You must also consider what you will do with this evidence. Some people have a divorce lawyer on speed dial. I know, very sad. Some will go into a funk and gain 20 pounds. Others will confront and ask for him to come clean. Would you take him back? Would you go into a trial period? You must have answers before confronting him/her. Be prepared for anything. 8) The last thing I can put into your mind is this: Attack the situation with as much strength as you can muster up. Your pride and respect has been trampled on. Defend your self respect and get the answers you deserve. But most importantly, don't lose yourself in the mean time. That can be the last thing you have when the dust settles. No one can take that away from you, unless you allow it. 9) You can also hire a private detective to catch a cheater. Make sure you hire one that knows all about cell phone forensics and how to undelete deleted text messages and emails. 10) Ask any PI, the fastest easiest and cheapest way to catch a cheater is an Online Infidelity Investigation. That's when you hire a PI to trace the cheater's email address back to all their secret dating and personal ad sites.
