Only once every couple years does the Olympics roll around, but when it does the eyes of the world are on these amazing athletes. We are inspired and moved by their stories, their determination, their hard work and competitive spirit. This is a great opportunity to incorporate an Olympics themed article into your article marketing strategy. Your subject matter does not need to be sports oriented--no matter what your topic is, you can use the Olympics as the theme for you article. Here are some ideas for you: 1 - What can Olympic athletes teach the people in your niche? There are many possible angles you can take: setting long term goals, pushing yourself to reach your full potential, using dreams to motivate you, sacrifice, discipline, perseverance, heroism, sportsmanship--the list goes on and on. 2 - Write an article containing success tips of Olympians that can be used by people in your niche. Olympic athletes are in the business of success--they train for it every day, and once every 4 years they have the opportunity to reap the fruits of their labors. If an Olympic athlete were to speak to your target market giving tips on how to succeed, what would he or she say? 3 - Is there any story from this past Olympics that has particularly touched you? There are so many dramatic stories behind these athletes. Maybe it was something heartbreaking or inspiring that happened during one of the competitions, or perhaps it is the dramatic personal journey of one athlete that sticks in your mind. What lessons did you learn from that story? How can you apply that lesson to your own life and your own work? Write an article about the lesson that you’ve learned through one of these athletes. 4 - Write an article about a new business goal that was inspired by watching the Olympics. One of the reasons why the Olympics is such a inspiring experience is that we know that these athletes have been training for years and years, since they were children. We know that they have made hard sacrifices to reach their goals and that competing in these games is the pinnacle of their careers. It’s inspiring to think that at the age of 3, 5, or 8 years old that these people had a vision of greatness for themselves that they truly believed could come true. It reminds us all that we often settle for just getting by when in fact we are capable of achieving much more. What vision of greatness do you have for your business or your life? Write an article about how the Olympics helped you set your bar higher for yourself. Conclusion: Will you write an article inspired by the Olympics? I think that the Olympics is an evergreen topic. There is so much buzz every Olympics year, and so much anticipation of the next Olympics when it’s not an Olympics year. The Olympic Games is so much an enduring part of pretty much every culture on the planet that an article on this topic could be very powerful.
