There's a large number of games available nowadays, mainly because of innovations in the Internet and in the ever growing array of gaming platforms to choose from. You can have your pick from the games available today; whether you're looking for one with a convoluted storyline or just a simple puzzle game, you're sure to find a game that suits your taste. There are a lot of cool games AND funny games available, and most games manage to integrate different types of genres, making the whole experience more enjoyable. I personally have five favourite types of cool games to play, which I'll discuss here: role-playing games (RPGs), first person shooters (FPSs), simulation games, puzzle games, and flash games. If you want your imagination to be taken on a great adventure, role-playing games are for you. I love how this type of game lets players act out the character of their choice in a particular story, and most of the time the players can decide the pace and how the story's going to turn out. Examples of awesome RPGs are Final Fantasy, Diablo I and II, and Fallout. One of the most popular games out there are first person shooters, and this type of game is also a fun way to relax when you're feeling stressed. This type of game is the safest way to vent out your frustration without actually hurting anybody (except for that fictional zombie or terrorist). Check out Halo and Call of Duty: Black Ops for great gameplay. While simulation games may not get the adrenaline pumping like most role-playing games and first person shooters, they are just as fun and addictive. These games give the player almost godlike control over everything that goes on in the game, or at least when it comes to particular areas or characters. Spore and SimCity are some examples. Simulation games can help improve management skills and strategic thinking, although you might be too hooked on games to be able to apply them anywhere else. Although they may not have mind-blowing graphics or complex storylines, puzzle games are arguably one of the most fun games out there. These games usually focus on just logical thinking or conceptual challenges within a specified time limit, but some puzzle games are integrated into other adventure games. Puzzle games are available in different forms of brainteasers, and require players to recognize patters, solve problems, or find hidden objects. Flash games may be simple, but they're the most widely played games since they're usually freeware and are just fun and exciting to play. Thanks to Flash and Java, people just need to go online to find cool games and funny games that they can play. Most flash games are available for free and are even integrated in social networking sites such as Facebook. Flash games don't require any particular type of skill or expertise, and except for those flash games with a hundred levels, they're relatively easy to finish. Flash games are available on a variety of topics and genres, from quirky quizzes to stick ninjas, so there's a game for everyone out there. The best types of games have the most interesting aspects of the different types of games in them, making them a cool and fun mix. If you're looking for cool games and funny games, you'll definitely find one that suits your taste. Just be sure to try out these different types of games yourself.
