With 2 people in the household working now there is no time to clean their house. Teenagers can make money cleaning houses as a good business.

To get started on cleaning houses you first have to see if this is for you. Clean your home from top to bottom. Then have someone that lives there look at the home and see if it is up to there standards.

When you decide this is a perfect business for you go ahead and get started. Advertising and getting your name out there is very important. Talk to your mom and maybe she knows someone from work or in the neighborhood. There are always bulletin boards at rec centers looking for potential customers also.

You can also get some fliers out and hand them out to people you know. Your school counseling office might know someone that just does not have time to clean their home. Word of mouth is great free advertising for you.

If you have a drivers license it will be easy to go somewhere other then your neighborhood. If you do drive to a home make sure your parents have the address and phone number were you will be. Give your parents times that you will be at a home.

If you do not have a drivers license it could be tricky for you. Do you want to ask someone to drive you there. It would be unprofessional having someone drop you off unless you or your parents are friends with the client.

How much you charge is basedon how big the house is and what the client wants you to clean. If it is basic cleaning of bathrooms, dusting, mopping, floors, vacuuming it will be less.

I would make up a check list of what they want you to do. So for each client you know ahead of time what you need to clean and how long each house will take you.

Most times the client wants you to use their cleaning products and their vacuum, mop, and broom. When you go over what they want you to use you can decide what you need. If you need to supply your own products this is a list of things for that.

-Vacuum
-Mop
-Broom
-All purpose cleaner
-Window cleaner
-Wood cleaner
-Rags
-Bucket
-Febreeze spray for rugs

With this article you have the information that will get you started as a teenager making money cleaning houses. Some clients like their home cleaned once a week. Other clients might want theirs done every other week. So when you are meeting with the client make sure you have these details written down for your information.
