Laser hair removal is designed to eternally get rid of unwanted body hair by using the light energy from a laser. Unwanted hair is a frequent problem in women and men. Shaving, waxing, and tweezing can only produce temporary results and can only be carried out on comparatively diminutive areas. Laser hair removal treatment can be used to permanently treat and remove small and large areas of unwanted hair from the body. Best results happen in those with light skin and dark hair, and hair removal works better on coarse hair rather than fine hair. The area is shaved and cleaned, and an anaesthetic cream is applied. The laser then produces pulsed beams of highly concentrated light which is absorbed by the pigment located in the hair follicles, damaging the surrounding follicle. The procedure can be rough, but it is not usually painful. The length of a laser session may take few minutes to an hour or more, depending on the size of the area being treated. Any redness and swelling of the affected areas usually disappears in a short time. And most people return to normal activity right away. Patients most often report experiencing these minor side effects during or following laser hair removal treatments: Redness - after treatment, redness of the skin can occur for 1-3 days on treated areas. Swelling - minor swelling or irritation is possible at the follicle site post treatment, dissipating in 1-3 days. Itching 'during laser sessions, itching or discomfort can occur on treated areas. Slight Pain 'the sensation of laser hair removal can be likened to the light snapping of a rubber band against the skin. The sensation can vary depending on the sensitivity of a patient's skin; for sensitive-skinned patients, most laser clinics provide a topical anaesthetic cream or spray to numb the skin. Like any other hair removal method, laser hair removal has its own risks. Although it has proven very effective and safe for most of patients, laser hair removal can't guarantee success for all skin and hair types. A patient's individual skin conditions, hair density, skin color as well as the type of laser being used for treatment can all have an effect on the final results. The side effects most often experienced by patients are minor and quite momentary. However, there are rare cases where more serious side effects can take place. By knowing the side effects and their possible causes, you can decrease the chances of experiencing them during treatment.
