Researching an ESCO Before The Summer Energy Price Hike

[Valid RSS feed]  Category Rss Feed - http://www.articlesbacklink.com/rss.php?rss=24
By : Mark Etinger

I am dreading that inevitable increase in summer energy cost. With the weather remaining mercifully (if for some, frustratingly) cool it may be too soon to worry. Each and every year the uptick in energy cost in the warm months is a concern for everyone around the country. Going without that air conditioner would help but that sounds like torture, especially come the dog days of August. Self denial is not ever going to be my preferred option so this year I intend to do some serious price comparisons. I will look into my options as far as energy companies that are running independently.

It is good for all of us that deregulation has allowed us all the option of using a privately owned natural gas supplier. The monopoly of local utility companies can really strangle a household budget. Often however, citizens are uninformed that they have options or (as I have been in the past) to disconcerted about the prospect of piles of research and paperwork to make the switch. This is a fool's game. Using an ESCO or Energy Service Company can save customers between 8% and 12% on their monthly energy bill. Think about how that might help your summer vacation or your families fall back to school shopping.

As a homeowner I just think it would be refreshing to turn on the air conditioner on a sweaty hot day and not hear the hum as the sound of piles of cash flying out of my pockets. Lord knows it would be nice to hold on to more of our money. Dragging your feet on researching alternative energy companies is like leaving a big pile of your own money sitting on a street corner. It is foolish and it will definitely be something you regret once the energy bills pour through the old mail slot. You do not want to be married to an energy service company that you did not choose. So why let yourself be? New York ESCO options are readily available through a quick web search.

A new natural gas supplier will be helpful through out the year. There are so many available energy solutions and they will only survive if we as citizens and consumers give them a fair shake. The government deregulated natural gas supplying to level the playing field. As more and more people turn to an ESCO we all have an opportunity to put even the most entrenched energy service provider on notice and improve their service. If we start chipping away at monopolies we may just be able to get everyone into a better situation.
