If you are really hoping to make a splash at the summer conventions and outdoor events you had better bring your 'A game.' You better look sharp and sound sharper and you better be prepared to sell. It's hard out there right now and people want to know that what they are putting money into or purchasing is going to have a high quality return or benefit to them. You understand this, you are a business man. Never have you ever allowed someone to charge you for something you were not satisfied with. That goes for your vendors and that goes for the people who produce your marketing materials. That said, it is worth asking are your current fliers and promotional postcards really working as hard for you as they can be?
Probably not. The truth is if you are selling yourself at conventions and the like, you need to catch people's attention. That is why for my business, selling boats+, I have plunged a lot of the promotional budget into custom banner printing. When I set up a booth there are a wide array of large format banners. We have retractable banner stands, pull up banners, double sided banner stands, and more. All expertly designed to deliver our name and our message (which without giving out our easily Google-able slogan is essentially "Buy a dang boat!").
When I set up that collective display of large format banners people take notice. They know that I am the boat salesman with the guts to get his name out there and they can clearly see that my boats are amazing. Every now and again, we find out that we have less space than we had hoped at a convention or the like and we will take more portable banner stands and pop up banners. These versions are as well designed as our others and are also a little more convenient to set up. They get the job done, but I love the big show set up and try and do it whenever I can.
Still you can have all the custom banner printing in the world and not make a sale. These trade show banner stands should really be a gateway to your own passion for what you are selling. Like me, I love these boats. Some nights I will walk out on to my lot of boats and just dose off in the bow of one. It keeps me focused on turning it out at the trade shows and conventions.
