When trying to find GSM cell phones, make sure to get the best for your needs. Okay, so that's not earth-shattering advice, but it bears repeating for that's really all you need to know when it comes to not wasting your money on something that looks good but doesn't do much for the money. Ironically enough, perhapsit is the explosion of all thee different handsets that has lead to people making rather unwise purchasing decisions: embaras de riches, as the French say. This is to say, a bewildering array of possibilities only leads to glazed eyes and actions born of impatience. Researchers of consumer psychology can attest to this finding. Whether it's GSM cell phones or just about anything else, really, most people will naturally feel more and more anxious when presented with an ever more wider variety of choices. Even though such a finding might sound crazy, there are quite a few good reasons for it. After all, about half the population -- those typically called "guys" -- don't like shopping. And why's that? In a word: instant gratification. Guys usually want to "get it over with." They'll feel this way no matter how simple the purchase, say something like buying soap or getting toothpaste. So just think how much more aggravating it is when something as complex as electronics is involved! To be sure, guys generally like technological gadgetry, since guys are typically enamored of toys to begin with. Guys like objects; they like controlling things. But today's technology offers a bewildering array of capabilities, feature-sets which only hard-core geeks would love spending time poring over...and most guys do not take pride in being geeks. Yes, then there are the ladies, the female half of the human race. These are people who often love to shop, but who find technology purchases none too interesting. Thus many if not most cell phone buyers couldn't really care any less about the plethora of competing features available on the market today. Is it any wonder, then, that they fall prey so easily to marketing hype? Thus, not knowing the latest from the greatest, they sometimes wind up with gear they not only don't need, but which may actually hamper their daily mobile communications! This means that a bit of self-awareness is important when looking to buy a cell phone. Just what is it that you wish to do with a handset in the first place? Do you need to send audio-visual material? Surf the web? Are games that important? Will you need WiFi capabilities as well, or would the data stream of your carrier's cellular network suffice?
