Blogger.com is owned by Google. You have probably come across a blog that has blogspot in the url. I have a lot of experience with these kind of blogs so I want ot offer the good and bad of blogging this way. 1. It is free and easy to set up. This is the main attraction to using this kind of blog. You do not need any technical knowledge to get started. Google offers several templates you can choose from and with a couple of clicks a button you have a blog you are ready to start developing. 2. Excellent options. Google was done a great job of allowing you to customize your blog very easily as well. You can add things such as the Google Adsense program, videos, graphics, text links, and so on to your blog very quickly. 3. Easy to monetize it. If you are not already a member of the Google Adsense affiliate program you want to join that and put some Google ads on your blog. Google will match the advertisers to the theme of your blog. You can customize the look of your blog by blending the ads in any way you want. Never click on your own ads. 4. Do not do this. One thing you do not want to do is add a bunch of duplicate content to your blog. This is true with any type of blog you do, but it's especially true when your blog is hosted by Google. This is the fastest way to get your blog banned. When you think about it this makes sense. If you keep your content unique Google will be happy to host it for you. If you're constantly adding duplicate content, that can be found on other websites, there is no real benefit to Google to host it and they will ban your blog. 5. Multiple niches. It's very easy to branch out and start a large number of blogs in various niches. However, my advice is that you never take on more blogs than you can maintain. It is important to consistently add fresh content to your blogs. When you do this target specific keyword phrases. You will find that Google is very happy to rank you highly on their search engine because it gives them a chance to promote their advertisers if you have Google ads on your blog. I personally think it is a good idea to host some of your own blogs too. However, there is nothing wrong with having a few Google blogs to make money on if you like blogging.
