People the world over, discuss their bucket lists and enjoy some banter and exchange jokes. However, many take it quite seriously and set out to achieve their list. If you are a passionate sports enthusiast you may be interested to know that there are sports fans enthusiastically compiling their sports list all over the country and working on their sports bucket list is their obsession.

It is rather puzzling to know where the term 'bucket' comes from. There are a number of theories which claim to pinpoint the origin of the term ''kick the bucket'. One popular one attests that it comes from the Middle Ages practice of execution where the accused stood on an upturned bucket with a noose around their neck. The bucket was then kicked out from underneath and the victim was hanged. Whatever the origin, the term became widely known and used after the movie of 2007 'The Bucket List' where two dying men take a road trip to accomplish their 'to do' list before they finally kick the proverbial 'bucket'.

If you are interested in sports and would like to follow up on your list then there are web sites that help bring people together with the same passions. The sites list all the popular games and you are able to choose the ones which you want to track. You are able to assemble your sports list online and find out which events you are able to attend and book your traveling requirements as well.

People can find others with the same interests in sports and may arrange to meet at various sporting venues. There is the opportunity to add games to your 'passport', and each game that you attend accumulates points until eventually you make the fanatic category in the 'Hall of Fame'. There is also the opportunity to blog about your experiences and events that you would like to attend etc. It is a place to make friends with others who follow the same games. Travelling to overseas events attracts a much higher point score. The social side of the site provides a good chance for people to get to know other similar minded individuals. They can chat away about their sports mania, their sporting heroes and make plans to attend future games. Many friendships can be formed when people find another enthusiast with the same ideas.

Perhaps, the aim may be to visit all the away matches for your team for the next season. This is a great way to see your team perform away from their home ground and also travel around the country as well. Any sports fan would love to visit some of the more famous stadiums including those in New York and Los Angeles. Watching a Red Sox game at Fenway Park, New York and experiencing the vibes would have to be one the most memorable occasions for a sports enthusiast. Maybe you are up for a bigger adventure and would consider making plans to travel overseas. You may be keen to attend an English football match at one of the country's famous venues. The stories you could tell!
