The Pleasures of Eating Outdoors

One of the best parts about nice weather is the ability to dine outdoors. When the sun shines it seems nobody ever wants to go inside, and can you blame them? It seems a real shame to miss out on even one moment of good weather.

Some ideal outdoor eating locations include:

1. Restaurant/pub patio:

In a busy city like London it can be difficult to find outdoor space. The city is used to rain and isn't set up for Mediterranean style living. Those restaurants and pubs that have an extra corner, patio or back garden would be well advised to cover it up with a canopy or add some sort of sidewalk extension so that their patrons can enjoy the outdoors no matter how sunny it gets, or even if it starts to rain.

2. Picnics in the park:

London is a city complete with lots of greenery. Unfortunately the city's residents can't enjoy it most of the year. By the time spring comes, you've never seen people flock to the park so quickly. Baskets ready, blankets out, friends on speed dial and the perfect spot in the sun and you've got yourself a great afternoon ahead of you.

3. Garden parties:

One of the perks of nice weather is being able to entertain outdoors. Those lucky enough to have a spacious garden or terrace can invite their friends and family over to enjoy a barbeque, cocktails and some relaxing time spent outdoors. Dining outdoors offers the host a bit of differentiation as well because they serve different, usually lighter, foods, different, usually more fruity, drinks, and on different, usually more disposable, dishes.

4. Romantic meals on a boat:

We mustn't forget about the luxury that comes with being to enjoy the water in nice weather. It doesn't matter whether you're privy enough to be dining on a super yacht or eating grapes and drinking champagne on a pagoda ride with the person you love, the ability to eat outside while floating along the water is priceless.

5. On the go foods:

Nobody wants to plow a sandwich into their mouth while the wind blows into their face and their hand feels like it's freezing off. What's not so bad though is enjoying an ice cream cone on the side of the road, or browsing shop windows while sipping on a frappucino. Eating on the go isn't so bad providing that we have time to actually enjoy it.

See, everything really is better when the sun is shining.
