As an Internet business owner building your online credibility is one thing you can do to help increase the amount of sales you make. This is true whether you run an off-line business you are trying to promote on the Internet, or whether you have a home business you are building online.

In this article let's go over six ways you can build your online credibility.

1. About us page. I personally have found this to be one of the most visited web pages on my website.

This is a good place for you to describe a little bit about yourself, about your company, and about your products and services. Include your picture so people can feel comfortable they are dealing with a real person.

On the Internet you do not generally have face to face contact like you would with an off-line business. Including your picture on your about us page helps overcome that obstacle.

2. Include your physical address and your contact information. This lets people know you have a real business and how they can get a hold of you.

Do not use a free email address such as a Hotmail account. Also do not use free website hosting. Set up a redirect email address in your hosting account. This looks more professional.

3. Add a video. A video statement from you is another thing you can do to build your online credibility.

This gives you a chance to describe a little bit about yourself and your company in a video format. Thanks to You Tube people are becoming more used to watching videos online.

4. Add a privacy statement. This provides a little bit of comfort to your visitor so they know exactly how you use their personal information. You can also let them know they can opt out of any online email subscription they join from you.

5. Start a blog. These are easy to update on a regular basis.

Search engines love blogs so it will help your website rank high for keyword phrases that people are searching for. The more times you are found online for various keyword phrases the more your credibility will grow.

6. Testimonials. Whenever you make a sale give your customers a chance to comment on their experience. A testimonial from a satisfied customer is one of the best sales tools any business can have.

If the customer writes something negative in their review it's okay to print that as long as their overall buying experience is positive. This seems more believable to your potential customer which helps your online credibility grow.

These are six steps you can follow to build your online credibility. The more credible you are to your website visitors the more sales you will make.
