Phone Systems For The Small Business

It may seem like something out of a Spielberg movie, but phone calls that take place over the internet and via computer microphones are a daily reality. Add a video camera lens to your computer network, and you are ready for a video chat. Technology has morphed phone systems into incredibly efficient and sophisticated networks of the sort that were not possible even ten years ago. Today, telephone systems go way beyond simple automated services, such as the recorded message. Now conversations can take place between practically anyone, no matter where they are in the world.

Those of us who run our own commercial business understand how important it is to use the correct telephone system. Sure, everyone uses email and cell phones these days but it looks like landlines are not going anywhere as far as businesses are concerned. For work, landline systems are much more reliable than cellular networks, providing better quality connections at a low cost to your business. Besides their affordability, landlines provide many features that make it easy to accomplish those tasks you need to complete via phone call. Generally, two line phone systems are used by professional businesses.

The main draw of two line phone networks is their ability to create a conference call with two other callers. In addition to conference calling, the second line allows for businesses to put a caller on hold in order to answer another call waiting on the line. They also allow users to place calls on hold. These phones can be cordless, but most businesses prefer receivers which are attached by a cord, this way an employee is less tempted to roam all over the office or to lose the receiver.

Expandable two line phones allow business owners to add more phones. This type of system is best if you need to connect up to four more phones and transfer calls from those who answer the phone to those who may be in another office or separate room. A small business is probably the best candidate for such a system. Besides the ability to transfer calls, these systems usually offer a high quality voicemail system with plenty of space for messages. Naturally, these systems can be programmed for speed dial and allow you to set up more than one voicemail, this way messages can be left for each executive that works in the office.

Phone systems are a requirement for any business, no matter how uncommon the services offered there. Two line phones are not only easy to use, they are immensely affordable, two qualities that any startup business can appreciate. With systems such as these in place, you will never have to worry about having missed an important phone call or sweat over how you will be able to set up a conference call.

Even while many private citizens are discontinuing the use of their landlines, businesses still thrive through the use of these systems. If you are going to run a quality business, you will want the best quality phone system out there and that still means utilizing a landline.
