An adjustable piano bench and pedal extenders are an absolute must when children are being taught to play on this wonderful instrument. Allowing them to get the 'feel' of the instrument adds so much more to their playing and will probably give them a lifelong interest in doing just such a thing. Along with furniture, like sheet music storage cupboards, the child will learn to be respectful of the instrument too and this is such an important lesson for them to learn. The seating comes in many forms ranging from the single stool to the double seated stool. If one or both sides can have the height changed, then this makes it easier for a teacher to sit on either side when they are teaching. This may be important if the teacher is left or right-handed, or if the child has a problem following directions from the 'wrong' side. The gadgets which allow those with shorter legs to reach the controls of the keyboard really are important when they are becoming proficient on the instrument. Without the ability to do this, they really are only scratching the surface, so to speak so finding the right set is important. These should also be able to be altered to fit the growing child so that they eventually can be discarded. It used to be that any score was kept under the lid of the seat. This is still possible today, but considering the wealth of written material now available to everyone, having a purpose built cupboard is probably the best avenue to pursue. Each narrow drawer in a nest of drawers is able to keep multiple pieces of paper flat and clean and this is very important where kids are concerned. Perhaps having one drawer per composer is an idea which should be pursued too so that the child learns to find what he needs himself. All these accessories are available online and each comes in a variety of finishes. Solid wood is always a good choice and if it is made to match the instrument, all the better. If none will match up with the instrument, it may be a good idea to match all the accessories to each other so that the room takes on a uniform look. Indeed, some people will love the warm and rich colors of mahogany as the only color to have, but there are other choices on the market for sure. Add to this the other kinds of accessories, like seat cushions and lamps to light the instrument properly, and this will bring a lovely look to the room altogether. In fact, it is the way in which people match up the cushions, which could be in plush or leather look materials, and the rest of the accessories to the room which makes a bold or classy statement. It is all down to personal taste of course, but by choosing toning shades and finishes, the room will look much better than if everything is different to each other.
