If your small business is party to a waiting or reception area, odds are you have already placed a few magazines there for clients to peruse. You may have also found, however, that these magazines tend to end up in the most unlikely of places; you may be in desperate need of literature holders. Such literature displays will allow clients to read magazines at eye level, but keep the literature in place so that it does not get lost in the office.

Another use offered by these devices is that of the distribution of marketing materials. Holders can be utilized for advertising purposes, acting as a compact and orderly marketing display. Designs that load literature in the top or front can prominently feature a number of media messages, in the form of memos, inserts, leaflets and the aforementioned magazines. A plastic display is usually about 2.5 - 9.5 inches in width and 11 inches or so in height. Larger holders often come equipped with an extra pocket that will hold business cards or an official nametag.

Often times, the plastic variety will feature pre-drilled holes so that it can be easily mounted on the wall. It is not unusual to see such a holder featured prominently on the wall of a hotel lobby, health office or tourist center. The common wall-mountable/countertop literature display case, such as the Tri-fold and the Half Page, is 4 inches in width. A larger version is the Full Page, at 9 inches in width.

Similar display devices are manufactured by Innovative Plastics, Rubbermaid and Deflect-O. These companies create both single and multi-tiered display pieces that are reliable in their solid builds and lightweight plastic design that provide extended protection to your media. If you need one that is a bit hardier, consider those made with an extra think plastic. The pedestal based holder is likely the best selection for those who want to organize the magazines in their office receptions areas. A floor-standing display may come with multi-tiered racks for extra organization of brochures, pamphlets or magazines in up to 12 pockets.

Besides these displays, small businesses may be interested to employ sign holders, additional business card holders, ad frames and table tends. Utilizing such displays is ultimately the most professional way to go about advertising a business' offerings and specialties. Besides plastic, many of these display options can be made from acrylic, cardboard, wood, wire or metal. Pocket sizes vary so that any imaginable media marketing item can be utilized in the correct sized display.

These literature display holders offer a stylish and compact method of sharing thoughts and ideas or advertising services. They can draw special attention to a nametag, stack of business cards, or easily organize large leaflets for distribution. Free-standing holders with a floor-standing unit make browsing magazines that much easier, and frees the office secretary from having to constantly tidy up the magazine selection. Holders also serve to protect the media they encase from stains, fingerprints, dust or smudging.
