Building an Internet business is something anyone can do if they are willing to do the basics. Depending on your skill level this may require you to learn Internet marketing skills before you can begin to make money. Sitting in front of a computer is not something everybody can do. I know my wife gets tired of being in front of her computer in less than than 1 hour. This is definitely something you should consider if you want to be an Internet marketer. Can you sit down and go to work on a consistent basis? Here are 3 steps you can follow that will help you build an Internet business. 1. Your website. Almost everything that happens on the Internet relating to building your business will come down to what your website looks like and how well it converts. Take a look at some websites that are doing very well in the rankings on Google for the keywords your Internet business will be in. This will give you some good ideas on how to lay your website out. Your website should contain the kind of information that visitors are looking for. It should be easy to get around in as well. Your website should be search engine friendly. This means paying attention to keyword density and other search engine optimization techniques. One other thing I have found important is to make your website interactive. Give your website visitors ways to interact with you and their overall viewing experience will be enhanced. 2. Build your list. You should have a sign up form on every web page on your website. Put it above the fold where people can find it. This will affect your subscriber statistics drastically. Keep your sign up form short. You only need your subscriber's name and email address to follow up with them. Keep in touch with your subscribers via email on a regular basis. Set up your autoresponder so it contains some useful information that goes out over a period of time. 3. Spend 90% of your time on website traffic. Any Internet business can grow if they are getting enough visitors to their website. Today that means developinh website traffic in multiple ways. Some proven ways to increase website traffic are article marketing, blogging, discussion forums, social media advertising, per click advertising, and much more. You should also work at building backlinks for relevant keyword phrases. This will help you rank higher in the search engines which can give you long term traffic even when you stop paying for it. There obviously is a lot that goes into building an Internet business. However, if you will concentrate on these 3 steps your Internet business will grow which will give you money to branch into other forms of profitable Internet marketing.
