There are many different practical uses for an inkjet printer. You use a printer to print out important documents and emails, to print out contracts and recipes, and more. But have you ever considered using your printer to print out photo quality images? It is a lot easier than you imagine it to be, and it doesn't take much time at all. The first thing you need to do is upload or download the pictures that you want to print. If you have a digital camera, all you have to do is attach the USB cord to your computer and upload the pictures. You can also download images off of the internet. This is very handy when it comes to saving pictures that your connections have uploaded to social networking sites. First, create a folder on your desktop or in your "My Documents" folder. You may want to name this new folder "Pictures" or something more specific to the types of images you plan on downloading to the folder. Then, simply right-click on the image you want to save and select "Save Image As." At this point, you can change the file's name. The next step is to edit the photo so that it will look the best it can look. Using a photo manipulation software, chance the photo resolution to be between 200-300 DPI. Instead of being web quality, the image will not be photo quality. You can also use your software to adjust the contrast, brightness, hue, color, sharpness and saturation. Now it's time to save the edited photo. The standard format to save images in is .jpeg. This format compresses each time the file is saved, meaning that a little bit of the photo quality will be lost with each save. So keep this in mind and make edits sparingly. Finally, you can print off your photo masterpieces. Photo quality printers churn out the best quality photographs; if you do not have a photo quality inkjet printer, don't expect your photographs to print out in the best quality. Be sure to use photo paper instead of regular inkjet printer paper when you are ready to print your images. There are many different types of photo paper that will achieve different effects. There are many things you can do with your newly printed out photographs. Make a photo album for a family member, or use the images you printed in your scrapbook. However you plan on displaying your photographs, they are sure to call attention and stand as lasting memories of the fun time you have had.
