Various Types of Sheds

Home sheds come in many different varieties, sizes, styles, and frame work. They are usually used for extra storage for things that you do not want to throw away, or for people who want to keep their lawn tools in out of the weather. Many people like to add them to their property so that they can build a small workshop on their property. No matter what type of shed you use, if it becomes a permanent fixture on your property it will help increase your properties market value greatly. Although, some sheds are better than others.

Most writers like to start at the worst and go to the best; however, this will depend on several factors. The first thing is how much money do you want to spend on a shed, and second is what type of materials you want the shed constructed with. Most types can be seen at your area department or home improvement store, so you will need to take these first two questions into consideration.

Most people like metal sheds because they are fairly inexpensive and are very easy to construct. They also are manufactured in a variety of styles, colours, and sizes. Some of them are quite fancy and can even look like an old carriage house. The good thing about these types of sheds is that by adding some 2 x 4 wooden studs, you can install hangers, and other items such as shelving, to have quite a nice organized tool shed.

Wooden sheds are much more durable and long lasting. They also can be purchased either at a home improvement store, or over the internet. If you order them over the internet you have the option to order them pre-assembled, and pre-cut in a kit form. Most of these kits contain everything that you should need to do the work yourself. They are great for holding up against high winds and snow as well. The great thing about using wood sheds is that the roof will have a peak, and by adding some inexpensive ¾ or 5/8 plywood on the base of the rafters you can add even more space, just like in an attic.

In today's economy we are beginning to see more and more sheds manufactured using hard plastic materials. These sheds are light weight, and are termite and weather proof. The good thing about these types of sheds is that they are very inexpensive. Plus they are completely maintenance free.
