There are so many cell phones out there today. What happened, it's like technology just went crazy over night and now that brat, fifth grader across the street has a cell phone. How'd it happen? I don't know, nor do I really want to explore the phenomenon. I accept it and instead turn to another phenomenon that is, cellular accessories. Today everyone is making cellular accessories even companies like UTStarCom accessories, a brand that dominates the Chinese market. UTStarCom is doing well in the states as well as Ireland, much of it thanks to cellular accessories.
But what cell phone accessories are selling particularly well right now? The car charger is always a great addition for any of us not in a city with public transportation. The belt clip is also a popular item. You're phone is always accessible and you will always see it flashing if you don't hear it ringing or feel it vibrating. Furthermore you no longer have to dig through pockets, purses, man bags or back packs. But what are some other consistently popular accessories?
There is still the headset. Bluetooth is very popular though UTStarCom accessories and headsets are gaining in popularity, too. These are great because they allow the user to have both hands free to do things like drive, grocery shop, work with the kids, work out, who knows what else, but there are always plenty of options with a headset.
The USB plug-in is another great addition for cell phones, allowing access to your computer both at home and at the office. However it seems the world of cell phone applications, the craze began with iPhone, are the new wave of cellular accessories. The great thing about these, still confined to the uses of smart phones, is that you just download them. Not to mention they have very specific functions for the user. If you want to know how to do 200 different weight lifting exercises, there is an application for that. If you need to get any spot in the contiguous United States from your home there's an application that will show you the quickest way to do so.
With Functions such as these it seems clear that the application is becoming the new accessory. That's not to say built clips and such aren't useful, they still are. But many accessories are being built into the phone. However if there is anything the works outside the phone itself, such as a case, you can count on those still being sold in stores.
