If you would like to have more hungry traffic on your website made up of people who have their wallets open and their credit cards ready, then you'll want to read this article. You can increase the amount of visitors that go to your site and boost the quality of your readers if you employ proper search engine optimization (SEO). Search engine optimization is different than search engine marketing (SEM) because SEM focuses on traffic that you have to pay for. On site SEO utilizes organic means to naturally get your visitors to go to your website. Utilizing proper SEO is very important because the end result will be that your websites will rank considerably higher in the search engines. And the closer a site is to the number one position the more traffic it receives. In order to make your web pages SEO friendly you will probably have to use proper HTML code and edit the content to get the results you want. This article will look at some of the most important aspects that you should concentrate on for your on site search engine optimization. Your Keywords Keywords are the words folks type into the search engine query box when they're looking for information about a specific product and / or service. Therefore, your initial decision will be which keywords you should focus on. If you target keywords that a person who wants to buy what you are selling would search for, your sales will probably notice that your sales are beginning to increase almost instantaneously. You can use free and / or paid keyword tools to find the words and phrases you should target. Once you have decided on what keywords to target there are four other major factors that will go into your on site SEO. They are keyword optimized copy, title tag optimization, meta tag optimization, and image tag optimization. Keyword Optimized Copy When you write an article for your website people should enjoy reading it. They should feel that it was time well spent. When you're done with this, you should optimize your article for the keyword(s) you chose to target. Use your primary keyword approximately one time for every hundred words you write. You should also include latent semantic indexing (LSI) words. LSI are phrases that most people would associate with your keyword. Your intuition should tell you where you should put them in the article. Nothing should ever feel forced or out of place. And always include a call to action in your copy. A call to action is what you want your reader to do that takes them further down the road to buying your service and / or product. Title Tag Optimization The first thing people see is your title. It's what they see at the top of a web page in their browser. The title tag of your page should contain your primary keyword. If you take a little time and make your title tag relevant you will separate your site from the millions of others websites. Meta Tag Optimization Next, you'll want to add a couple of meta tags to your code. These are the Description meta tag and the Keywords meta tag. Write a 25 to 50 word blurb about your site and what it offers. Although it should sound natural you will want to make sure that you include keywords in your description. There are a number of more advanced techniques can boost your search engine ranking even more. However, when you use these three easy to use techniques you will be well ahead of what most people do when they build a website.
