In any home or office setting environmental factors must come first and foremost when it comes to a Feng Shui workup. It is often said in real estate ( and restaurants as well), that the most important determining factor is "Location , Location and Location" Less chaos ,confusion and disorder in your life by simply taking the time to clean up and put things away the better for the mazel that you will encounter in your lifetime. Still if you purchased your home and the lot is located on a steep slope then it's a case of lots of luck. You are behind the Feng Shui 8 ball before you even began. Realtors , with all of their expertise , training and experience in the real estate trade seem to have the gift for finding that perfect home for you and negotiating good interest rates and terms. If you have just sunk costs into your home that are exceptional , such as a new central furnace and air conditioning ventilation system then you may have decided due to your substantial investment in your property and real estate just to stay put. It all starts with simplicity. If you just hate to clean and put items in their places - do the salami method. The "Salami" method of organizational behavior is to take the whole task - or in the example a meat salami - and chop it into pieces. Work your workload by completing small task , one at a time, over an extended period of time. Go out to a big box store and purchase all the shelving and plastic storage bins you can. Even if you pay full bore retail , any stacking or storage kits you get will well be worth the cash outlay in terms of real value to the quality of your life and levels of anxiety. If the plastic bins are on roll away stacking unit and you have the space and locations for these, great. All you can hide and sequester away the better. Fitting plastic or even wooden storage cartons with clipping lids can always be counted on to reduce visible disorder. Shelving is next in line. Do you have the room in your condo or apartment to place the extra storage units. Sure they save space but only if you have clear access to them. Its not unlike a homeowner who replaced a freezer chest with an upright only to discover that he did not have full clearance for the refrigerator freezer door from his central gas furnace. What is one man's treasure is another aptly named garbage. Why let garbage pile up ? Toss it out or away. If you are a renter to you want to get evicted from your residence or apartment. If you have used the item or items , for good purpose in a good time period - then get rid of it. Some people , lord knows why , or "hoarders". According to some psychiatrists this practice is pathological and rests on the personalities involved having few real friends in life. Their hoarded ,unused possessions become their only true friends in life. How sad. The items in cold storage could be used by good purpose by some other people or families. Perhaps the hoarder should get on with their life. Rather than all of this foolhardy measures a pet cat or dog might make all the difference in their lives? If in doubt throw it out is the general rule. When setting up the locations and variances of your storage spaces and areas take great care not to block the flow and currents of the vital good "Chi" energies. Feng Shui elements and flowing powers should traverse your home, residence or office like the Mississippi River system. If not now then "Chi" valuations and discounts will come back to bite you in the future. In a person's lifetime in most cases it can be said that often their problems are of their own making. We are the masters of our own existence. Many experts in the field will state that often it all comes to down to basics and common sense. However common sense is often uncommonly found. Lastly one area of the home, that followers of Feng Shui and its principles often forget is the garage or "storage shed "areas. Take the time and effort to preserve the vital flows of Feng Shui powers in these areas as well.
